I use all my own photographs to illustrate behaviour and conservation issues surrounding African lions, Cheetahs, Leopards (& Wild dogs); also Tigers in India, Jaguars in Brazil, Puma in Chile and Lynx in Spain.

I have made a number of visits to the Polar areas. This talk is a survey of wildlife and conservation issues in Polar regions. In the North : Svalbard & Arctic Canada, contrasting with Southern Polar regions : The Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica (penguins, seals etc).

Wildlife in most of the following places would be featured: Africa (including Botswana, Namibia, Rwanda, East and South Africa ), India, Sri Lanka, the Galapagos Islands, Baja California, Canada, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Borneo, Antarctica, Svalbard, New Zealand, Iceland, Spain and Scotland, including Shetland and the Hebrides. Companies used include Wildlife Worldwide, Exodus, Naturetrek, ACE, The Travelling Naturalist, Travelbag and Safari Consultants. This would a good talk for a travel club.

The wildlife of Scotland - Red Squirrels, Badgers, Pine Martens, Puffins, Gannets, Dolphins and much else besides! The talk will include recent stories and pictures from The Hebrides and Shetland.

Descriptions of trips to Svalbard (2007, 2010 and 2019), also Northern Norway, Baffin island (Arctic Canada 2014) and Iceland (2013). Polar Bears will feature strongly in this talk as will other wildlife such as Arctic foxes and Walrus and, of course, the wonderful scenery.

A fairly light-hearted account of my encounters with animals such as cheetahs, rhinos, elephants, polar bears, grizzly bears, penguins and even whales! Some conservation issues would be mentioned. This is currently my most popular lecture.

This talk begins by surveying some of the ways in which bears (mainly fictional!)interact with us in our daily lives. Then, more seriously, the talk concerns itself with some of the conservation issues surrounding the eight species of bears plus anecdotes about my own encounters with Grizzly, Black & Spirit Bears in British Columbia; also Polar Bears in Canada and Svalbard.

This talk starts with considering our love of penguins with some amusing illustrations. Then follows the serious bit (!) - a survey of the 17 species of penguins with details of behaviour and where they are to be found. I have seen about 11 of the species in the wild so most of the illustrations are mine.

Ideal for Church groups, this talk illustrates some of the wonders of God's Creation and highlights our need to look after it.
